Vancouver Chapter Harley Owners Group Business Meeting January 7, 2012

The meeting came to order by Director Terry Sue at 10:05 am in the Trev Deeley Motorcycles Conference Room.

There were no new members present at today's meeting and one member rode today.

NEWS from Trev Deeley Motorcycles (Chapter Sponsor):

Terry spoke on behalf of the store.

• Trev Deeley Motorcycles 95th Anniversary is this year (2012). Please help yourself to a key fob from the basket here on the front table if you have not already picked one up.

• The Vancouver Motorcycle Show is being held on January 19 – 22 at the Abbotsford Tradex Centre. Trev Deeley’s is providing 2 V.I.P. passes for a door prize at today’s meeting. You can pre-buy tickets here at Trev Deeley Motorcycles. The cost is $12.00 and $1.00 of that cost goes to B.C.C.O.M.

• The Service Department has some great winter specials. They are offering a $95.00 labour rate for the months of January, February, and March for all Vancouver H.O.G. Chapter Members. Please go see the folks in the Service area.

• The Parts Department is offering 12% off Heated Grips and LED Lighting to all Vancouver H.O.G. Chapter Members for the months of January, February, and March.

• The MotorClothes Department is offering 12 % off Rain Gear to all Vancouver H.O.G. Chapter Members for the months of January, February, and March.

OLD BUSINESS:

Dec 3 – Brunch was provided by Trev Deeley Motorcycles here in the Conference Centre. Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed this excellent meal. Thank you Darwin and Trev Deeley Motorcycles for providing this for us.

Dec 3 & 10 – Photos with Santa Claus – Trev Deeley Motorcycles – 11am to 3pm

Dec 25 – Christmas Eve. Store closed at 3pm.

Dec 25 – Christmas Day. Store Closed.

Dec 26 – Boxing Day. Store Closed.

Dec 31 – New Year’s Eve. Store closed at 3pm.

January 1 & 2, 2012 – New Year’s Day. Store Closed.

NEW BUSINESS:

As you are aware, we have a number of positions on the Executive that are vacant. Due to the fact that Terry Sue is now our Director, that leaves the Assistant Director position open. Konstantin Egorov has agreed to move from Activities Officer to Photographer. And Henry Wong, a long time member of the Vancouver H.O.G. Chapter has stepped forward to fill the Historian position. This is not a new position for Henry, as he was the Historian a number of years ago. We are looking for anyone who would like to step forward to fill any of the vacant positions. Or, if you know of anyone within the Chapter who you feel would be an asset to the Chapter, please forward all names to Terry Sue, Director, Chris Ferguson, Secretary, Darwin Osarchuk, Manager of Trev Deeley Motorcycles

The money that was collected for the families at Christmas was used to provide Christmas presents and food vouchers for the following:

• Single Mother and daughter 6 years old

• Single Mother and daughter 5 years old and son 2 years old

The remainder of the money was given to “Basics for Babies”, a program sponsored by JR Country Radio Station for the Vancouver Food Bank

Jan 14 – H.O.G. Renewal Party – 11 AM to 2 PM – Trev Deeley Motorcycles. Come and renew your membership for 2012. Refreshments will be provided. As in the past, the officers will be selecting “At Random” members who will receive their membership “FREE” for 2012.

Jan 19 – 22 – Vancouver Motorcycle Show at the Tradex centre in Abbotsford. The H.O.G. Chapter will not be having a booth this year, but Gerry Rooyakers will have the Burn Camp booth put on by the BC Professional Firefighter’s Association and Ride to Live will have a booth as well to support the Prostate Cancer Ride on May 27, 2012.

Feb 4 – Vancouver Chapter H.O.G. Meeting – 10 AM – Trev Deeley Motorcycles

Feb 8 – Ladies of Harley is sponsoring a dinner at “My Greek” Restaurant in Coquitlam. Further details regarding this activity will be announced at the February meeting. A sign-up sheet will also be circulated at that time.

Feb 18 – Billiards Tournament – Q-Zone Billiards, Marine Drive, Burnaby. This is a tournament for all Vancouver H.O.G. Chapter members as well as non-members. The cost will be $5.00 for members and $10.00 for non-members. The money pays for the rental of the tables for the evening. Snacks and beverages can be purchased on site. Further details will be announced at the February meeting.

The Meeting was adjourned at 10:30am.

Door prizes, donated by Vancouver H.O.G. Chapter and Trev Deeley Motorcycles were won by Karina B., Dale J., Berend K., Konstantin E., and Paul W.

The next Chapter meeting will be on Feb 4th, 2012 at 10 am in the Deeley Motorcycles Conference Room.
