THANK-YOU VERN and DIANE!

As the first article in many years for the Vancouver HOG Chapter, I think it is appropriate that it be a thank-you note to Vern Bye, our past chapter director who recently stepped down from that position and to Diane Bye who also stepped down from the Treasurer position.

Those members who have been in the Vancouver HOG chapter long enough to remember when the average attendance at the monthly HOG meeting was consistently below 10 (and much less for the rides), know what a tremendous job Vern and Diane did to bring together the number of fellow riders who attend the monthly meetings and rides now.

Organized, dependable, hardworking and fun describes Vern and Diane.

Over the many years they resided as Director and Treasurer, there have been countless memorable rides that they have led us on. We could always depend on them to organize the ride, make it fun and get us back. I’m sure all of you have a fond memory of a ride led by Vern and Diane.

There also were Canada Day parade rides in Steveston, casino nights, pool tournaments, the Regional Rally, countless BBQs and so many other events that they laboured at tirelessly so that we could take part in the fun.

So, Vern and Diane, on behalf of the Vancouver HOG Chapter members and Trev Deeley Motorcycles, a warm thank-you for all the good times and enjoy your time now as attendees of Vancouver HOG events. Maybe in the future, we can look forward to the both of you carrying the torch once again. But, until then, many happy trails to both of you.
