Let's Talk About the 2024 Breakout

With it’s long, lean custom chopper look, the 2024 Harley-Davidson Breakout is a customer favourite motorcycle to look at in the showroom. The chrome accents and beautiful paint colour choices like Blue Burst, and that distinctive 21” front wheel makes it an undeniable attraction. Legs get thrown over the bike, phones come out to snap pics, and smiles grace every face that sits on top of this modern legend.

Do you remember the phenomenon that was Orange County Choppers in the early 2000’s? The Harley-Davidson Breakout was first introduced in 2012 as a model designed to capture the essence of that custom chopper scene without the hefty price tag and extended build time of a one-off rolling piece of art.

With its long, low-slung profile and large rear tire, the Breakout quickly became a favorite among riders looking for a bold and aggressive aesthetic. It originally featured the Twin Cam 103 engine, which provided ample torque and a signature Harley-Davidson rumble.

The Breakout's design was heavily influenced by custom motorcycle culture, with features such as drag-style handlebars, a wide rear tire, and a stretched-out stance, and a raked front end – which is still how the model comes equipped from the factory today. Over the years, the Breakout saw various updates, including the introduction of the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine in 2018, which offered improved performance and smoother power delivery, and then the Milwaukee-Eight 114 in 2019 and 2020.

Despite its popularity, the Breakout was discontinued in some markets, but its appeal never waned among enthusiasts. In 2023, Harley-Davidson reintroduced the Breakout with all chrome accents and the powerful Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine (1932 cc), which, in previous model years, had only been available on the CVO bikes.

Back to the 2024 Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 – this bike is amazing. One of the most anticipated models in the Harley-Davidson lineup, the new Breakout features advanced electronics, improved handling, and a refined design that stays true to its roots while embracing the future of motorcycling.
