This year is going to be EPIC!
We have tons of festivities happening all throughout the motorcycle season every year; it's no wonder why time disappears so quickly from the moment the season kicks off! No matter what you ride and how long you've been riding, whether you enjoy partaking in motorcycle rallies and supporting charities, or prefer meeting other riders in smaller crowds at social-based events and workshop nights, there is something for everyone. If you’re looking to find what rides and events are taking place this year in the Lower Mainland, you’d definitely want to check out our 2020 TDMC Calendar of Events and Facebook events page to stay in the loop. If you’re active on Facebook, you may also want to visit the Bike Life Vancouver group, a local motorcycle community that cultivates a positive and inclusive environment for all motorcycle riders and enthusiasts. As one of the admins of that group, I encourage those who are new to the motorcycle scene, seeking to make new acquaintances and share invaluable experiences with, to join the camaraderie, talk shop and ride together.
With the riding season coming up close, I’ve been feeling this surge of excitement and anticipation in the air like there’s something big that’s about to happen - it just can’t come soon enough. Every year I try to cross as many things off my bucket list as possible (last year was the first time I got to ride the Duffey Lake Loop, I enjoyed that route so much I did it 3 times in a month!), but this year is going to be EPIC! My goal is to venture more outside of the city, starting with Vancouver Island: explore Port Renfrew (Cowichan Loop) and the Parksville-Port Alberni-Tofino area, cruise down coastal roads and soak in the scenery all around. Next on my list is to head over to the Nelson-Kootenay region, where there’s a lot of small historic towns and beautiful forests to discover.
Last but not least, the ultimate moto-trip that I’m most ecstatic about is riding down to Born Free Motorcycle Show in Silverado, California in June. It’s been a dream of mine to participate and enter in this show; to witness some of the wickedest custom built choppers and cruisers of the West Coast and make new connections with the local riders, builders and vendors down there. If you’re thinking about going on a long motorcycle ride down to California this year, this is one you won’t want to miss out on.
Well, I shared my list of rides to ride this year. What are you most excited for this riding season?
