How to choose the right Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.

So you want to get into the Motorcycle scene, do you? You've purchased your first leather jacket, and you’re ready. OK, It’s true that it is one of the most exhilarating experiences ever; even for a beginner. But there is more to choosing your first motorcycle than simply picking the one with the coolest paint job or best accessories. That’s why we’ve created this guide to help you figure out which bike is right for you and your lifestyle.

With more than a century's worth of heritage behind it, Harley-Davidson is a top American motorcycle brand. Whether you're looking to cruise the strip or tackle the mountains, there's a Harley for you — and we're here to help.  Picking the right bike matters, and your choice should reflect your riding style and your needs.

Our first suggestion: Take a test ride. If you're serious about buying a new bike, find out what it feels like to ride one before you buy it. You'll pick up on things that can't be conveyed in words or even by watching others ride. That's why we encourage you to take as many test rides as necessary before finally taking the plunge.

Next, consider these factors:

Size and Power: Bigger bikes tend to have more power and greater torque — that is, they accelerate faster — but they also tend to weigh more and cost more (and require bigger gas tanks). The opposite is true of smaller bikes: They're lighter and less expensive but generally don't accelerate as quickly or go as far on one tank of gas. For some riders, power isn't everything; for others, it's the only thing that matters.

Price point: Harley-Davidson has a wide range of motorcycles, from the premium Softail to the budget Sportster. Each bike has one or more variants that can help you decide which model is best for you. It is important to talk to our Finance Manager to see what rates you qualify for before committing to your Motorcycle purchase.

Customization: Harley-Davidson motorcycles are fully customizable in almost every single way. From the handlebars to the seats, everything is designed to change to your specific wants and needs.

Here is a breakdown of the 2021 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle models to see which bikes you might be interested in. (NOT ALL MODELS ARE INCLUDED.)

Street:

Harley-Davidson's Street and Sportster models are the company's entry-level bikes. They're not as fancy as the larger, more expensive touring and cruiser models, but they get the job done for people who just want to get out and ride. They also offer something else: variety. Street and Sportsters come in several different styles, or "generations," with each generation dating back to a specific year. There are differences between the generations, including frame style and engine type, but one of the biggest is paint color.

Cruiser:

This is not your father's Softail. The Harley-Davidson Softail is an iconic cruiser, but the new 2021 Softail makes that statement with a vengeance. The new Softail frame has been redesigned, the frame is lighter and stiffer for better handling, responsiveness, and power delivery. The core of the new Harley-Davidson is its rigid-mounted engine. This helps the rider feel connected to the powertrain, and it also contributes to greater chassis rigidity. The seat is lower to provide a more comfortable riding position. A lot of the technology from the Milwaukee Eight engine has been integrated into the new Softail.

Touring:

The Harley-Davidson Touring bikes are positioned as the brand's most luxurious, premium touring motorcycles. Their distinct appearance and comfortable riding experience make them a favourite of Harley fans who want to stretch their legs on longer tours.  A Harley-Davidson Touring model favourite is the Harley-Davidson Road King: The Road King is built for riders who enjoy the open road and want to take long trips with plenty of storage. It boasts a powerful engine, smooth ride and plenty of storage space.

CVO:

The CVO (Custom Vehicle Operations) series provides exclusive styling and performance enhancements on Harley-Davidson's traditional touring bikes. The CVO bikes are basically the cream of the Harley crop and they start with a lot of exclusive features that you can't find on other models.

Adventure Touring:

The Harley-Davidson Pan America is made for the rider who wants the freedom to go wherever the open road takes you. And with it's powerful 1250 Revolution Max engine, it's ready to take on any adventure you've got in mind. The 1250 Revolution Max engine delivers more torque for even greater acceleration, hill-climbing ability, and hill-top power. With its capability, you'll get more out of every mile. Take it on an open highway or into the wild - no matter where your journey takes you, it's ready.

Trike:

The Harley-Davidson trike is for riders who want the look, sound, and feel of the legendary Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine in a motorcycle with three wheels.

Electric:

The first Harley-Davidson® electric motorcycle. Instant power and acceleration. Delivers a level of exhilaration unlike anything else. 0 TO 60 IN 3 SECONDS. Get instantaneous power the moment you twist the throttle. No clutch to release. No gears to run through. All you do is flick your wrist and take off.

Whether it’s the adrenaline rush of the open road, the peace, and quiet of winding backcountry trails, or just the sheer joy of riding with friends -- there is something for everyone. Your perfect match is out there waiting for you to discover it. All it takes is just a few moments to fill out that application. You'll be riding before you know it.
