The Test Ride

With the ride beginning at the Trev Deeley Motorcycles parking lot, Yuki headed west on Highway 1 to the Cypress point lookout. The ride, which joins onto the Trans-Canada/ BC-1 West, also known as the Upper Levels Highway, gave her a chance to open it up and test the snappiness of the bike before turning off into a windy mountain drive—allowing her to experience the sleek and nimble design.

After reaching her destination, she elaborated on the feel of the LiveWire®. "It really has a lower center of gravity. I like that Harley-Davidson stayed true to that."

And when asked about the throttle, she responded, "It's an instant response, no clutch, no gas you just go."  Carle Brenneman, the Social Media Specialist at Trev Deeley Motorcycles, came along to document and talk about the ride.


The Perfect Summer Bike

When the days are warm and sunny, everyone loves to ride, but when daytime highs reach 40 degrees Celsius, add the heat coming off your engine. You have to admit it can be a bit much. With the LiveWire®, this is nonexistent. "There is no heat coming from the bike," adds Yuki. And we feel this is a plus of owning an electric motorcycle.

Standout features

Riders have seven selectable Ride Modes consisting of a specific combination of power, regeneration, throttle response, and traction control settings. Four of LiveWire® ride modes come pre-programmed (sport, road range, rain), with three additional ride modes available for the rider to fully customize.

The LiveWire® comes with a 4.3-inch state-of-the-art touchscreen display. The display is full color and designed to keep riders updated and aware of speed, battery charge status, and range.

What are the charging options for the LiveWire® motorcycle?

As a rider, you have two easy charging options. Get a full charge overnight using the LiveWire® onboard Level 1 charger and power cord to connect to any standard household outlet. Alternatively, Harley-Davidson offers faster charging with 80% charge in 40 minutes or 100% charge in an hour when visiting any public Level 3 DC Fast Charge station.

In partnership with Electrify America, new LiveWire® owners can also get 500kWh (approximately 2000 miles) in complimentary charging over two years after purchase.

How far can you ride on a LiveWire®?

The LiveWire® is designed for urban adventure, and as stated by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, on a single charge, "the high-voltage battery provides 146 miles (235 km) of city range or 95 miles (152 km) of combined stop-and-go and highway range."
